My First Video!

Well I'm happy to share my new video!  "Mid Winter Thaw".  It's a short, 1 minute video of water running down eaves troughs as a warm January sun melts the snow.  For me, it was an opportunity to play with different apertures, ISO's and settings.

I decided to film everything in 720p at 60fps, so I could slow a few parts down in iMovie.  I think it turned out well.  I'm soo impressive with how sharp and vivid the picture is even in 720p!  I have noticed that 720p has more of a "dramatic" look as compared to 1080p in both 30fps and 24fps.  I kinda like it.

Recent Photos

For my first blog post I thought I would share a few pictures that I've taken over the past few days.  I've been experimenting with my new Canon Rebel T2i.  Having very little knowledge of how to use a DSLR, this has been quite the learning curve so far.  Playing with ISO, aperture, shutter speed, picture modes, etc has been very intimidating.  All my efforts thus far have been focused towards trying to nail down the correct exposure without having photos and videos too grainy, while allowing enough light in so I don't have to use a flash.  *although I did cheat and used the flash on one of the pictures*

Anyhow, follow the following link to go to my "Photography" page where I've posted a few photo examples of shots from the last two nights.  Enjoy.
