Hi there, my name is Colin and to be honest, I know virtually nothing about photography, or shooting video with a DSLR camera. So what the heck am I doing with a Canon Rebel T2i? Good question. It all started with the purchase of a GoPro HD wearable video camera. I purchased the GoPro so I could film myself enjoying the outdoors. I'm an avid mountain biker, snowboarder and scuba diver and I was looking for a camera that could tag along with me on my adventures. The GoPro fit the bill perfectly, and I started making videos every chance I could get. I became obsessed!One day, I was searching the net for mountain bike videos that could give me a few ideas of ways I could shot video on our next ride with my GoPro camera. Well I found the coolest video! I was blown away by the quality of the footage. I immediately sent a message to the individual who made the video and asked what camera he was using?? His answer "A Canon 550D" (which in N. America is known as the Canon Rebel T2i). I had to have one! I went out, bought that same camera, and now plan to make films utilizing the incredible video capabilities of this Rebel T2i. Since it also takes fantastic photos, I figure I should dabble in photography as well. Why not, right?
So, to wrap things up... I'm a regular guy, who loves to make videos and is about to embark on a journey into the world of DSLR's with my new Canon Rebel T2i :)
